Terms and Conditions
These terms govern the ordering and performance of photography services, payment, delivery of the photographs and their permitted use.
Last updated:
These Terms and Conditions apply to photography services provided by Szabó Roland, sole proprietor, under the brand name Roland Szabó Photography.
1. Details of the service provider
Service provider: Szabó Roland, sole proprietor
Brand name: Roland Szabó Photography
Registered office: 1223 Budapest, Rózsakert utca 19/C., Hungary
Tax number: 90077102-1-43
Registration number: 59217758
Email: hi@rolandszabo.photo
Telephone: +36 20 591 4620
2. Scope of these Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to portrait, automotive, event, wedding, real estate, brand, product and other photography services provided to private individuals and businesses.
The specific content, price, location, date, delivery deadline and other individual conditions of the service are defined in the accepted quotation or a separate contract.
If an accepted individual quotation or contract regulates a matter differently from these Terms and Conditions, the individual agreement takes precedence.
3. Enquiries and formation of the contract
An enquiry made through the website, by email, telephone or Instagram does not in itself constitute an order.
The contract is concluded when the client accepts the quotation sent by the photographer in writing, including by email or electronic message.
If the quotation makes final reservation of the date conditional upon payment of a deposit, the date becomes final when the deposit is received.
By accepting the quotation, the client confirms that they have read and accepted both the quotation and these Terms and Conditions.
4. Content of the service
The photographer provides the service with regard to professional experience, the accepted concept, the characteristics of the location and the prevailing lighting conditions.
Before placing an order, the client may review the photographer’s portfolio and visual style. The colour treatment, editing, cropping and retouching of the photographs are based on the photographer’s professional and creative decisions.
The photographer endeavours to realise the ideas agreed in advance but cannot guarantee the exact reproduction of another photographer’s work, a reference photograph or an artificially generated image.
5. Cooperation by the client
The client must provide accurate and timely information that is material to the photography assignment. This may include in particular:
- the number of participants;
- the location and programme;
- the intended use of the photographs;
- the required types of photograph and details that must be captured;
- restrictions or permit requirements at the location;
- special circumstances affecting the photography assignment.
The client is responsible for ensuring that all permissions required for access to and use of the location and for the creation of the ordered photographs are available, unless the photographer has expressly undertaken to obtain them.
6. Fees and payment
The service fee is specified in the accepted quotation. Payment is made by bank transfer against an invoice.
The payment deadline is eight days from the date of issue of the invoice unless the quotation or invoice specifies a different deadline.
The costs of studio hire, location hire, makeup artists, stylists, models, permits, travel, parking, equipment hire or other external services are included in the photography fee only where the quotation expressly states this.
The client remains responsible for the cost of external services approved and ordered in advance where the photography assignment is cancelled for a reason within the client’s control.
7. Deposit
The photographer may request a deposit for certain assignments, particularly wedding photography. The amount and payment deadline are specified in the individual quotation or contract.
An amount paid in advance qualifies as a deposit under Hungarian law only if the quotation or contract expressly describes it as such.
If performance fails for a reason attributable to the client, the client forfeits the deposit. If performance fails for a reason attributable to the photographer, the photographer repays twice the amount of the deposit.
If performance fails for a reason for which neither party is responsible, or for which both parties are responsible, the deposit is returned.
8. Rescheduling and cancellation
The date of the photography assignment may be changed without a separate modification fee where the parties are able to agree on a new date.
In the case of outdoor photography, the parties jointly change the starting time or date where weather conditions are unsuitable. The purpose and location of the assignment and the possibility of working safely are also considered when assessing the weather.
If the client does not attend and gives no prior notice of their absence, the photographer may treat the assignment as cancelled. A separate cancellation fee is payable only where it is included in the individual quotation or contract.
Any previously paid deposit and non-refundable external costs reserved for the client are settled according to these Terms and Conditions and the individual quotation.
9. Late arrival
If the client is late, the photographer will, where possible, still carry out the assignment and endeavour to provide the originally agreed content.
Where the duration cannot be extended because of the studio, location, event programme or another external circumstance, the delay may reduce the time actually available for photography.
10. Force majeure and unavoidable circumstances
In the event of illness, accident, official restrictions, extreme weather, transport disruption, loss of access to the location or another circumstance beyond the reasonable control of either party, the parties first endeavour to agree on a new date.
If later performance is not possible, the parties account for services already provided, the deposit and non-refundable external costs.
11. Image selection and retouching
For portrait and other services sold with client image selection, the photographs to be retouched are generally selected by the client from a collection preselected by the photographer.
The package includes one reasonable round of corrections. This may include, for example, correction of a minor retouching error or an adjustment to the crop or colour correction.
Major creative alteration, a later change to the concept, complex removal of objects, modification of the body or clothing or other substantial post-production may be subject to an additional fee.
The photographer is not required to deliver RAW, unedited or otherwise unfinished files.
12. Number of photographs
For portrait, automotive, real estate, product and other package-based photography services, the number of retouched photographs is specified in the accepted quotation.
For event and wedding photography, the number of photographs depends on the length and density of the programme, the number of participants and the photographable situations that occur. A precise number is guaranteed only where the accepted quotation expressly states one.
13. Delivery deadline, image delivery and archiving
The binding delivery deadline is specified in the accepted quotation or a separate contract.
Smaller portrait and automotive assignments are often delivered within three working days. Larger events, weddings, corporate projects and assignments requiring more extensive post-production may take longer.
Finished photographs are delivered digitally, generally through a Google Drive download link. The link is temporary and may later cease to be available depending on the available storage space.
The client is responsible for downloading the photographs after delivery and making their own backup copies.
If the download link is no longer available, the client may request redelivery. A new link can be provided only if the photographs remain available in the photographer’s local archive.
RAW and unselected photographs are retained on the photographer’s locally managed computer storage for one year following delivery of the final photographs. Final, delivered photographs are retained for five years.
The photographer does not undertake unlimited or permanent archiving and is not responsible for redelivering photographs after the applicable retention period has expired.
14. Copyright
Copyright in the photographs remains with the photographer. Payment of the service fee does not in itself transfer copyright.
The client receives a licence to use the photographs in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the accepted quotation.
15. Licence granted to private clients
A private client may use the final photographs indefinitely for their own non-commercial purposes, including:
- storage on their own devices;
- printing;
- sharing with family members and acquaintances;
- publication on their own social media profiles.
Selling the photographs, using them for business or advertising purposes, licensing them or providing them to another person for independent use is not permitted without separate authorisation.
16. Licence granted to business clients
A corporate or business client may use the final photographs in its own business communications, including:
- its own website;
- its own social media platforms;
- PR and press materials;
- printed marketing materials;
- job advertisements and internal corporate communications;
- its own paid online or printed advertising.
The client may provide the photographs to its own agency, graphic designer, printing company or media partner for the purpose of carrying out the permitted use. Those contributors may not use the photographs for their own independent purposes.
Reselling the photographs, selling them as stock photography, sublicensing them to a third party or providing them for the independent advertising of another business requires a separate agreement.
17. Modification and photographer credit
Photographer credit is not compulsory when the photographs are published, although voluntary credit is appreciated.
Proportional cropping required for a social platform or print size is permitted. Material changes to the colour, retouching or content of the photographs and the application of filters are not permitted without prior authorisation.
18. Use for portfolio and marketing purposes
The photographer uses photographs showing the client or another identifiable person in the photographer’s own portfolio or marketing only on the basis of separate consent.
The consent may appear as a separate and voluntarily selectable provision in the photography contract. Ordering the service or accepting these Terms and Conditions does not in itself constitute automatic consent to portfolio use.
Refusing consent does not affect the price, process or quality of the photography service.
19. Defective performance and corrections
If the performance demonstrably differs from the accepted quotation, contains a technical defect or was not completed properly for a reason attributable to the photographer, the client may request reasonable correction of the defect.
Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may consist of additional post-production, redelivery of the photographs, a repeat photography session, a reduction in price or a refund.
A creative decision consistent with the style shown in the photographer’s portfolio, a later change in the client’s personal taste or a requirement that was not communicated in advance does not in itself constitute defective performance.
20. Consumer right of withdrawal and termination
Where a client who qualifies as a consumer concludes the contract at a distance, for example by email or electronic message, the consumer may withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within fourteen days of its conclusion.
If performance of the service begins at the consumer’s express request before the end of the fourteen-day period, the consumer may terminate the contract without giving a reason within the same fourteen-day period.
The consumer must make any request for performance to begin early expressly and on a durable medium, such as by email.
If the consumer exercises the right of termination after performance has begun, the consumer must pay the proportionate fee for services already provided and any non-refundable external costs incurred at their express request.
After the service has been fully performed, the consumer loses the right of withdrawal or termination where performance began with their prior express consent and they acknowledged that completion of the service would result in the loss of that right.
The intention to withdraw or terminate may be communicated through an unambiguous statement sent to hi@rolandszabo.photo.

The service provider may amend these Terms and Conditions prospectively. The version in force when the contract is concluded applies to the relevant order.
In the event of a dispute, the parties first endeavour to resolve the matter through direct consultation and amicable settlement.
