Budapest Photo Walk

We explore Budapest with other photographers.

I have been organising these community photo walks for several years. Sometimes we explore the streets and urban details, while on other occasions a model joins us and we practise portrait photography together.

How each event works

What happens during a photo walk?

Every event has a different route, subject and urban environment, but the basic format remains simple and informal.

  1. We meet at the agreed location

    I provide the meeting point, time, planned route and everything worth knowing or preparing in advance.

  2. We begin the walk together

    The group follows the route together, but everyone does not need to photograph the same subject or work from the same viewpoint. There is time to look around, stop for an interesting subject, experiment and talk.

  3. We take photographs and exchange ideas

    Depending on the theme of the event, we photograph urban details, street scenes or a model who joins the group. Along the way, we can show one another what we noticed and experiment with new viewpoints or technical approaches.

  4. We stay connected after the walk

    Afterwards, members of the community can share their finished photographs, see how others interpreted the same route and prepare for the next event.

We follow the same route, yet everyone notices completely different subjects, light, details and moments.

Who is it for?

The Photo Walk is for photographers.

Even when a model joins the event, shared practice remains the main purpose. Several photographers work with the same model, each following their own ideas and visual approach while respecting one another’s work and time.

The Photo Walk is not a course, so you need a basic understanding of your camera and some experience working independently. The events are also not intended to provide participants with a complete portrait series of themselves.
