The equipment I work with.

Photography equipment does its job well when it supports the situation reliably without getting in the way. These are the camera body and lenses I regularly use for portrait, car, event and business photography.

In brief

One system for several different tasks.

I do not take my complete collection of equipment to every assignment. I choose the lenses that are genuinely required based on the location, available light, subject and intended purpose of the images.

I can also hire studios, lighting and specialist equipment that is only occasionally required. I choose these specifically for the individual assignment and include the expected costs in the quote in advance.

The equipment

My current personal system.

One Sony camera body and seven different lenses form the basis of the equipment I use regularly.

Camera body

  • Sony Alpha 7 III

    My primary camera for most portrait, car and event assignments. It is a reliable and versatile body that performs well in changing light and during longer shoots.

Lenses

  • Sony FE 85 mm f/1.8

    I use this lens for tighter portraits and headshots when natural proportions and soft separation from the background are particularly important.

  • Samyang AF 50 mm f/1.4 II

    A fast lens with a natural perspective for portraits, events and photographs created in lower light.

  • Sigma 35 mm f/1.4 DG DN Art

    I choose this lens for environmental portraits and events when I want to show more of the location and story alongside the person.

  • Sigma 70 mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art

    I use this lens for products, details and close-up photographs when the accurate presentation of small shapes and surfaces is most important.

  • Tamron 20–40 mm f/2.8 Di III VXD

    A flexible wide-angle range for broader scenes, restricted interiors and more dynamic urban and automotive compositions.

  • Tamron 28–75 mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2

    A versatile working lens that allows me to adapt quickly during events, portrait sessions and other rapidly changing situations.

  • Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC

    An ultra-wide-angle lens for interiors, properties and photographs that require a deliberately expansive perspective.
