The series is about the two of you together: how you pay attention to one another, walk, play or simply sit beside each other. We adapt the pace to your pet’s behaviour, and natural reactions matter more than holding a pose for a long time.
Photographs of you together, as well as individual portraits of your pet.
You can attend with a dog, cat or another pet. We discuss in advance how they behave in unfamiliar places, what they enjoy, what makes them nervous and the environment in which they are most likely to relax.
We work with walking, play, attention-grabbing and short, simple situations. There is room for movement, breaks and the possibility that a completely natural moment works better than a photograph we originally planned.
What kind of photographs can we create?
The series can feel playful, active, intimate, urban, park-based or homely. We can create portraits together, moments while walking and playing, detail photographs and individual portraits of both you and your pet.
How pet portrait photography works
The session is not controlled by a fixed list of poses. We prepare for the important photographs while continually observing what your pet responds to and when it is better to move, play or take a break.

I learn about your pet in advance
We discuss the kind of animal you will bring, how they behave around unfamiliar people, places and other animals, what attracts their attention and anything we need to manage carefully.

A calm outdoor location may work well with a dog, while a familiar indoor environment can be more comfortable for a cat or more sensitive animal. Alongside the light, we consider safety and temperament.

We work with walking, play, treats and brief moments of attention. We create photographs together, individual animal portraits and natural details, taking breaks whenever required.

You choose the photographs
After the session, you select your favourites. The starting price includes 10 retouched photographs, and you receive one additional retouched photograph together as a gift on the day of the shoot.
How much does pet portrait photography cost?

The starting price applies to one owner and one pet and includes 10 retouched photographs. The time spent settling in, moving and taking necessary breaks does not increase the cost. I provide a bespoke quote in advance for more participants, several pets, a rented indoor location, several or more distant locations or a larger finished collection.
We adapt the location and process to your pet’s temperament. A lead or harness required for safety remains in use during the session, even when it may later be possible to remove it from certain photographs during editing.

How should you prepare for pet portrait photography?
The right location begins with your pet’s behaviour
Before the session, it is worth describing in detail how your pet behaves around unfamiliar people, places and other animals. I also need to know what excites them, what makes them uncertain and how easy it is to attract and maintain their attention.
A spacious park or urban location may work well with a calm, well-socialised dog. For a nervous, reactive or easily overwhelmed animal, we choose a quieter setting, a less busy time or a familiar indoor location.
A home or another familiar environment is often more comfortable for cats and other pets that do not enjoy travelling. In this case, we review the available light and useful spaces in advance.
A few familiar objects can make a significant difference
Bring water, treats, a favourite toy and the lead or harness your pet normally uses. It is better to work with equipment they already know and in which they can move safely.
The collar, harness and lead may be visible in several photographs. Clean and simple equipment generally attracts less attention, but it is not worth changing to something unfamiliar or uncomfortable purely for the photographs.
A short and calm walk before the session can help a dog settle, but there is no need to exhaust them completely. The series may include both active and quieter situations, so it helps if they retain some energy and interest.
Safety is more important than any visual idea
We only work without a lead in a place and situation where it is safe, permitted and your pet can be managed reliably. In every other situation, the lead or harness remains in use throughout the session.
It may be possible to remove the lead from certain photographs during editing, but this depends on the position, background and type of coat. We choose situations that make the equipment as unobtrusive as possible while creating the photographs.
If you would also like photographs involving several family members and many different arrangements, the session can partly connect to family portrait photography. In that case, we adapt the location, process and quote to the number of participants and animals.

What if my pet cannot sit still?
This is not a problem. Good photographs can be created while walking, playing, moving and briefly attracting their attention. Instead of relying on long-held poses, we find situations that suit their behaviour.
Can I attend with a dog, cat or another pet?
Yes, although the location and process are always adapted to the individual animal. During the initial discussion, it is worth describing in detail how they manage travelling, unfamiliar surroundings and new people.
What happens if my pet is nervous or reactive?
Please tell me in advance. We choose a quieter location and less busy time, maintain a suitable distance from potential triggers and allow more time to become familiar with the situation. The session is always built around circumstances that can be managed safely.
Will you also create individual photographs of my pet?
Yes. Alongside photographs together, we can create individual animal portraits, movement photographs and details. We discuss in advance how much emphasis each direction should receive.
Can my partner or family also attend?
Yes. We can create a shared series with several participants, although this needs to be agreed in advance because the number of people and required arrangements affect the location, finished collection and quote.
Do we need to remove the lead for the photographs?
No. We only photograph without a lead when the situation is safe and permitted. It may be possible to remove the lead from certain photographs during editing, depending on the background, position and type of coat.
What should I bring?
Bring water, treats, a favourite toy, waste bags and the lead or harness your pet normally uses. You can also bring an object connected to a personal memory that you would like to include in the photographs.

What determines the price?
The final price depends on the number of participants and pets, the number of locations, possible location hire and the size of the finished collection required. The time spent playing, resting and settling in does not increase the cost by itself.
How many photographs will I receive?
The starting price includes 10 retouched photographs. You choose your favourites after the session, and you can order additional retouched images separately.
When will I receive the first photograph?
You receive one retouched photograph together as a gift on the day of the shoot. We agree on the delivery time for the complete series in advance.
Will the photographs be retouched?
Yes. You receive the selected photographs fully retouched. The editing brings consistency to the light, colours and small details. Whether a lead or other equipment can be removed depends on the individual photograph.
