The type of car matters, but so does the reason it is important to you. A preserved classic, modified vehicle, modern sports car and everyday car connected to a personal story each call for a different kind of series.
You can send a few simple phone photographs of the car before our discussion. These show its colour, finish, shape and any details that should receive greater emphasis.
The intended use also affects the series. Prints, social media, automotive communities and a personal keepsake may each require different crops and details.
The paintwork, shape and surroundings all influence the light
Glossy bodywork continually reflects its surroundings. Buildings, trees, lights and bright areas of sky can appear particularly strongly on a dark car, so the location also needs to be considered as a reflective surface.
Light, dark, metallic and matte finishes reveal the lines of a car differently. We therefore choose the time of day according to the bodywork and the atmosphere you want.
Cloudy weather can also produce strong results. Softer light may create cleaner reflections and more even surfaces, while low sunlight gives the collection a warmer and more dramatic atmosphere.
The location should support the car rather than compete with it

Careful preparation matters more than extensive editing
Before the shoot, clean the bodywork, glass, wheels and tyre sidewalls. Water marks, insect marks and dust can appear much more noticeable in photographs than during everyday use.
Remove cables, bottles, parking tickets and other personal items from the interior. If you would also like photographs of the luggage compartment, prepare that area in advance.
If the main purpose is to present the car for sale in a detailed and realistic way, used car photography provides a more suitable starting point.
